Children’s Events & Programs

Children from birth through grade 6 enjoy free programs throughout the year designed to foster a love of reading and the joy of visiting the library. Programs include storytimes, book clubs, crafts, and a variety of performers from magicians to theater groups. Many programs offered by the Children’s Room are generously funded by the Jane Gray Dustan Fund.

Storytimes

Storytimes are offered throughout the year for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. No registration is required for our in-person storytimes. More information can be found here.

During the summer, join us for storytime at the Belmont Farmers’ Market (in the town center parking lot at Channing Road and Cross Street). Storytime meets Thursdays at 4pm at the market and is for all ages. In the event of inclement weather or excessive heat, storytime may be canceled. You can view our guidelines here, and if you have any questions, please call the Belmont Library’s Children’s Room at 617-993-2880.
