Job & Volunteer Opportunities
Please check with the Town of Belmont’s Human Resources Department for job opportunities and how to apply. All candidates for hire must successfully pass a CORI Background check per town policy.
Library volunteers support, enrich, and enhance the library’s services and programs by sharing their time and talent and performing tasks that paid staff members are not available to do. Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular schedule, keep regular hours, call when not able to volunteer, and provide advance notice of vacations.
Volunteers are matched to available activities which may include shelving and shelf reading and other special projects that may come along. Some of the tasks may require physical actions such as reaching, bending, lifting, and pushing heavy books and book carts. All candidates for volunteering must successfully pass a CORI Background check per town policy.
Thank you for your interest!
*Please note: starting December 2018, we will be putting recruitment for our Adult Volunteer Program on temporary hold, foreseeable until April 2019. If you would like to be considered for volunteer opportunities, you may still fill out an application, and we will get back to you as soon as our program is up and running again. You may also want to check with the Friends of the Belmont Public Library for volunteer opportunities.
