New – Streaming TV

We’ve just added Acorn TV to our online offerings! Acorn allows you to stream popular British comedies, dramas, and mysteries, plus documentaries and foreign films.

The library has partnered with RBDigital to offer Acorn TV, so if you’ve already been using RBDigital to read digital magazines, you can access Acorn with those same login credentials. If you’re new to RBDigital, create an account that will work for both magazines and Acorn TV.

Please send your questions and comments to Ask A Librarian.

Today! Club de Español

If you’re a language learner who wants to practice speaking Spanish, or maybe a formerly fluent Spanish speaker looking to polish up your skills, Club de español is for you.  In this group we practice speaking Spanish together in a low-key, supportive environment.

While this group is focused on beginner to intermediate Spanish speakers, all who enjoy speaking Spanish are welcome.  Librarian Nancy McColm facilitates this group, and questions or comments can be sent to [email protected]

Next meeting: Tuesday, February 25 at 1pm in the Flett room. See our events page for more details and additional dates

Sponsored by the Friends of the Belmont Public Library.

Discover Your Family History

If you are interested in genealogy, you won’t want to miss this workshop on Ancestry.com, library edition.  Ancestry is one of the most powerful resources for family history research that exists, and learning how to use it well, will help you not only with Ancestry, but with similar genealogy resources.  This 90-minute workshop, led by librarian Nancy McColm, will explore the types of information Ancestry holds, and provide search tips, and hands-on practice.   Registration is required, as space is limited.
