Study Buddies

Need an extra hand with homework? Students in Belmont entering Grades 1-6 can request a free volunteer mentor as part of Belmont Public Library’s growing initiative to create an environment for lifelong learning. Each registered student will be paired with a volunteer from the high school to practice reading, math, science, and whatever other school subjects you need assistance with once a week for as many weeks as they need.

To register, fill out the form here to begin the matching process.

Will my student get the same mentor every week?

The schedule will depend on your mentor’s availability each week. The librarian will help you create a schedule that will work best for both participants.

Can a parent hire a Study Buddies’ mentor?

All mentoring done for Study Buddies is free-of-charge. If a parent would like to hire someone who is part of the program, they can email Hannah Lee, the YA Services Librarian, at [email protected], and ask whether that student offers more services.

What if I have more questions?

Our YA Services Librarian, Hannah Lee, can answer any questions you might have. You can contact them via email at [email protected] or by calling 617-993-2873.
