Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons for Teens
Whether you prefer your magic to come from cards or RPG wizardry, Belmont Public Library has you covered!
Twice a month, Magic the Gathering takes over the library! At our Open Play, beginners can join us to learn how to play Magic, while veteran players can play each other, and access to a swap box and lands if they need to round out your deck! And if you forget your cards, we have decks you can borrow, too. We’ll be in the Assembly Room from 3 to 5 pm on Tuesdays – September 3rd, October 1st and 22nd, November 19th, and December 3rd and 17th! Eagle-eyed players will note that there’s only one Open Play scheduled for both September and November. That’s because we’re introducing Magic Tournaments to the library! Our first tourney will be a Booster Draft on Wednesday, September 18th from 2 pm to 6 pm. Sign up is required and can be done here!
For those with a hankering for dice rolling, collective storytelling, and epic battles, we are starting up a library Dungeons and Dragons group, using the Hoard of the Dragon Queen campaign book. The campaign is beginning on Monday, September 16th from 3 to 5 pm in the Flett Room, and the group will be meeting every two weeks for the duration of the campaign. Dice will be provided if you don’t have your own and we will have snacks as well! Players of all experience and skill levels are welcome. Sign up online here, as space is very limited! Please try to be available for every session if possible. This program is for teens in grades 7 to 12.
