A Night with Author Gish Jen

The Library is pleased to announce A Night with Author Gish Jen. Known for exploring the multicultural experience in novels like Typical American and Mona in the Promised Land, best-selling author Gish Jen turns to nonfiction in The Girl at the Baggage Claim to clarify how differently Easterners and Westerners regard the concepts of self and society, and what that means for education, politics, business, and art in an ever closer world.
Tuesday, February 6th, 7pm
Library Assembly Room

TEACHERS! While supplies last: show your school ID at Belmont Books beginning Jan. 24  or at the Feb. 6 talk and pick up a free copy of The Girl at the Baggage Claim, courtesy of Gish Jen.

The Girl at the Baggage Claim is remarkable and fluent but, most of all essential.” — Sherry Turkle, Abby Rockefeller Mauze Professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology at MIT, and author of Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age
