Summer Reading & Events: Astronomy Night!

This year’s Summer Reading Program, Libraries Rock!, has got something for everyone, kids, teens, and adults alike! The program runs June 18th through August 18th; prizes include books for kids, trinkets and gift cards for teens, and an end-of-the summer Kindle Fire raffle for Adults! Check below for ways you can participate, or come into the library to register in person.

Rock’n Summer Programs

astronomy night

Join astronomer and former NASA consultant, Kevin Manning, for a night of learning about our solar system and star gazing! You’ll start the night in our Assembly Room hearing about the size and scale of the universe, the stars, and other celestial wonders using hands-on activities and assorted visuals. Then, weather permitting, we’ll venture outside to view celestial objects in the night sky through a powerful hand-crafted telescope, such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn, and craters on the Moon! Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Adult Summer Reading (18 and over)

  1. Grab a Bingo sheet at the Library, or download one HERE. Get five across, up, down, or diagonally in a row, and come in to claim a gift certificate. Or, go for a “blackout” and check of all boxes, and get an even bigger prize (1 per patron).
  2. Fill out a review form, online or at the library, and be entered into our biweekly raffle. At the end of the summer one lucky reviewer will win our grand prize, a Kindle Fire!
